Mohawk Fine Papers
Mohawk is at the forefront of environmentally sound manufacturing. Every day Mohawk looks for better ways to reduce emissions and protect the environment inside and outside our mills. On June 1, 2007 Mohawk increased the purchase of wind-generated electricity RECs to 100,000,000 kWh annually which represents 100% of the electric power required for all of Mohawk's operations in its New York and Ohio facilities.
Mohawk sources only ECF virgin fiber pulps and PCF postconsumer recycled fiber pulps. Mohawk's virgin fiber papers are ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free). Mohawk's 100% PC papers are PCF. Mixed virgin and PC papers are mixed ECF and PCF according to the percentage of virgin and PC pulps used. All of Mohawk papers are acid free.
In addition to the products in each chart, Mohawk is certified to produce papers to FSC standards and/or manufactured with wind-generated electricity in any standard Mohawk grade with a 20,000 lb. minimum making order.
